Happy New Year!!! I'm looking forward to seeing you again this Tuesday. Moms, are you ready to jump in again? Kids, are you geared up for another semester of learning with your friends and exercising your minds?
Here we go...
1. Brush off your question-of-the-week memory and be prepared for review. This Tuesday we will have prizes for three winners who can answer questions from the first 12 weeks. Of course, we will also have a prize for anyone who gets this week's question correct.
Here is this week's question: Who are the remaining 6 of the 12 sons/tribes of Israel?
Answer: Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin
2. We start art again this week! Yea!!! This is my favorite part of the year at CC. The kids love to jump in and get messy. This portion of art focuses on the great masters. We study the artist then do our own rendition of their work. Many of our projects involve paint. Though the paint is water soluble, please don't put nice clothes on your kids. We have paint shirts and will try to roll sleeves up and cover as best we can, but I advise you to hold off the nice apparel for 6 weeks. Weeks 15 and 18 will not involve paint.
3. We will have lunch in the classrooms until the weather warms up again. Bring along a sack lunch and settle in with your friends. I know that we are used to running and playing at lunch time, but please resist the urge to run and be loud in the church. I will bring along a game this week called JINGO (bingo with a theme--geology this week). We can set it up in the hallway or the atrium and the kids can play that in a large group if they are interested.
4. Melissa Harrell will be teaching Foundations Fun will be from 1-3, during Essentials. More info. to come on Tuesday.
