Especially for those who are drilling for memory master, I wanted to clarify about drawing the features (Journeymen and Masters only). Many of the geography locations will only require the student to point to identify. I want to list all the features that will require more than pointing. Note: All cities should be marked with an "x". The following is a list that the children will be required to draw:
Week 1: Fertile crescent, Sumer, Euphrates, Tigris
Week 2: Babylon
Week 3: --
Week 4: Arabian Desert (dots)
Week 5: Nile River, West/East Deserts (dots), Nile Delta
Week 6: Alexandria, Carthage
Week 7: Ganges, Himalayas, Great Indian Desert
Week 8: Huang He (Yellow), Chang Jiang (Long), An-Yang
Week 9: --
Week 10: Kyoto, Tokyo, Mt. Fuji
Week 11: (all) Constantinople/Istandul, Rome, Ephesus, Cyprus, Antioch
Week 12: (all) Mecca, Medina, Baghdad, Damascus, Tours
For all the locations, please make sure you drill your student by asking them to locate... and by pointing and asking them to identify... For MM, I will test both ways.
Also, please mix up the locations as you quiz. The student must master this material, not memorize a pattern. I may ask for Sumer, then Mt. Fuji, then Phoenicia. I probably won't mix it up that much, but the student should be capable of navigating through any combination of locations.
